I've used this cartridge type during construction jobs that were hazed in greenish diesel exhaust, cigarette smoke, and concrete demolition dust- the filters make the air pure and wonderfully breathable- excellent for comfort, resulting performance, and health. More recently I wear them traveling China where air pollution can be the equivalent of smoking up to 20 cigarettes per day; just walking around and breathing normally. The filters and mask make it so my throat does not hurt. Without the mask it feels like breathing glass dust. It is not fun wearing a mask - it's also not fun worrying about cancer, COPD, CAD.. The mask is very effective, masterfully ergonomic, well designed, has several comfortable fasteners. Disease is about duration of exposure- just put on the mask and limit/eliminate that exposure time. Wear it!
