Took the internet ad on its own truthfulness that this has chime like CD quality sound. Well, it does and also offers a volume control to set the sound level and also the ability to run on battery, AC power or use the battery as a power backup. While it is paintable, the beac hwood finish is quite attractive on its own. A good buy, after searching local home impeovement stores and finding nothing suitable that wasnt wireless our home is wired
