This is a second a/c as needed another one for the bedroom. Extremely satisfied with the honeywell a/c & wish I had purchased sooner. Very easy to install & cools as advertised for size of unit. Have recommended to others already if want portible a/c this is a good quality one & reliable manufacturer.
The unit works very well. The window bracket unit shall be longer nobody has that small windows attachment of the hose to the window bracket shall be more robust the hose itself shall be longer, so unit sits on the floor
Does a good job cooling room with cathedral ceiling
I'll give it a five now because I love my 10,000 btu Honeywell, Decided to get the 15,000 to cool two bedrooms during frequent power outages. Tried different makes over the years and Honeywell is the one to turn to!
So far so good.I bought this unit to help cool my 25ft camper which I work out of here in west Texas as an oil contractor.we haven't seen triple digits yet but I tested it on a high 90s day and it exceeded my expectations.again time will ultimately tell
This is a wonderful space saving device. No more back breaking lifting a heavy air conditioner to/from the basement to place in/out of the window.
Product FAQs
Portable ACs use either a single hose or dual hose design. In cooling mode, single hose PACs remove hot air from the room, and then expel the hot air out the one hose. In cooling mode, dual hose PACs bring in air from outside through one hose, and expels warm air outside through the second hose. In both cases cold air in cooling mode flows through the unit's vents into the room.
Casement windows are quite unique in design and functionality so PACs do not have window kits that can completely cover the gap for these types of specialty windows.
The screen may not interfere with installation, but for better releasing of hot air out the window, it is better to remove the screen.
A BTU (British Thermal Unit) is a standard unit of energy that measures the amount of heat per hour an air conditioner removes from a room. The larger the room, the higher the BTU requirement. Below, are some general guidelines. However other factors – such as the number of open doorways, a south-facing window with continuous sunlight, or a room with high occupancy – can require a unit with a higher BTU rating than the average guidelines.
Room Size in sq. ft. BTU
- 350 8,000
- 450 10,000
- 550 12,000
- 700 14,000
