Do a great job
I have never had an air purifier before, so I cannot compare to other models. But, this one is quiet enough that I can sleep with it on. I also have a very quiet air conditioner in my room, and that is louder. The device it fairly attractive and unobtrusive. I love the colorful symbols that light up to identify which mode it is on. They are large and easy to see. You can also turn off these lights, so they aren't annoying. Would recommend.
just what we wanted
This air purifier is so quiet you hardly know its there. We are sleeping and breathing better with pure air. I liked it so much I bought one for my mother who suffers with allergies.
This is our third Honeywell purifier. We live by the forest fires and this purifier was an absolute must -- kept the air clear in the house and is not too loud!

These home air purifiers have been engineered to capture up to 99.97% of the following microscopic airborne allergens and particles: dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris and smoke. These portable air purifiers use an easy to read VOC sensor that displays the surrounding air quality level. They also implement a custom filtration process via enhanced odor filters, effectively turning them into pet air purifiers, smoke air purifiers and air purifiers for allergies.
The Honeywell HPA5100 comes with a pre-filter and a HEPA filter. The pre-filter should be replaced every 1-3 months, and the HEPA filter should be replaced every 6-12 months. InSight Air Purifiers can also use enhanced filters that should be replaced every 3 months.
The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminants can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Replace the Filters. The HEPA Filters should be replaced every year and the Pre-Filter and Enhanced Odor and VOC Filters should be replaced every 3 months. Please note these are guidelines only and filters should be checked periodically as individual home conditions may vary. To ensure the unit is performing properly, replace with Certified Genuine Honeywell Filters.
In general, the unit will be most effective when doors and windows are closed. It is recommended that you run your air purifier while you are at home to help clean the air. If desired or conditions warrant, you may run your air purifier 24 hours a day
